New Class for English 10 Romeo and Juliet unit

Welcome to English 10! We have a HUGE class this semester, which is fantastic for our purposes. We will be starting our year with Romeo and Juliet, delving into such themes as love vs. hate, gang violence, suicide, arranged marriages and all kinds of interesting themes. We started our unit with Shakespearean insults. Everyone was very insulting and spoke the difficult language surprisingly well! Then we drew pictures of Queen Mab, the fairies' midwife. We will be continuing with the unit next week, deciding on what our Elizabethan feast will look like. Hopefully, everyone will be excited about choosing a theme for the unit and presenting an engaging and entertaining adaptation of any part of the play.

See you Monday!
