English 10 is now veering around another corner. Poetry tests, packages, and presentations are done and were very interesting and enlightening. We are now embarking on our next unit--making connections between different genres of media--essays, newspaper reports, stories, poems, songs and film. We will be looking at the format of the Provincial exam and doing some practising towards writing it in January!

Movie next week for your edification and enlightenment: What's Eating Gilbert Grape? You will need to make connections between the movie and the various pieces of writing we are studying, all of which illuminate the themes of perceptions, stereotyping, and pre-judging.
